The Telluride Humane Society passionately strives to respect and value the life of every animal.

Our Mission is to:

  • End the overpopulation of homeless dogs and cats through mission-critical programs and efforts
  • Better animal welfare in the way which animals are treated by setting higher standards of practice and leadership which focus on compassionate and sustainable solutions
  • Be of direct and consistent support to the pets and pet owners of San Miguel county and the southwest Colorado region
  • Expanding to our neighboring southwest regional areas of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, we have meaningfully chosen to aid and rescue pets in dire need from the Native American Reservations.

Dog Adoption

ADOPTED! Meet Zeus! Zeus is a 11-13 wk old male, mixed breed rescue puppy from the Navajo Reservation. This absolute cutie is an unbelievable delight with a wonderful easy-going and balanced temperament. He loves to play with other dogs, is great with young children and is learning to co-habitate with his foster family’s kitty named Ford. He is walking beautifully on a leash and sticks with his “pack” when running off-leash while well-supervised with his foster. We estimate his adult size to be between 45-55 lbs. Zeus is ready for his forever home! Contact us if you’d like to meet Zeus!

ADOPTED! Meet Rue! Rue is a 11-13 wk old female, mixed breed rescue puppy from the Navajo Reservation. This little girl will melt your heart! She is a dream. Rue is the perfect balance of a calm presence and a playful puppy. She is a fast learner and loves to play with her foster brother, Louie. We cannot sing her praises enough! We estimate her adult size to be between 45-55 lbs. Rue is ready for her forever home! Contact us if you would like to meet Rue!

ADOPTED! Meet Shadow! Shadow is a 11-13 wk old male, mixed breed rescue puppy from the Navajo Reservation. Those ears are all you need to see to know that Shadow is pure joy, pure fun! If you want daily smiles from ear to ear along with a great big snuggle bug, Shadow is your puppy! He loves playing with other dogs and is great with young children. He learning to know his foster kitty, Ford. We estimate his adult size to be 40-50 lbs. Shadow is ready for his forever home! Contact us if you would like to meet Shadow!

Adoption fees vary per individual puppies and dogs.

Fee includes with our partnered veterinarian facility: a full doctor exam, vaccinations, bordatella, rabies, heartworm preventive, flea/tick preventive, spay or neuter and microchip.

We are 100% volunteer; 100% foster based and 100% donation based. We sincerely appreciate your support.
